"Bil Gladstone shows one of the advantages [of B2B referrals], in terms of customer retention:
[excerpt from Small Business article by Gladstone] "...This way, it's YOU who did the job, set up the deliverable, hassle-free at both ends. The client can zip in, pick up the item and zip out. You've short-circuited the competitor's steal. It's a "high touch" method, but that's what retention is about. And it works."
"This is beautifully explained! Bil, I'd like your permission to quote this. I'll be starting a newsletter called Positive Power of Principled Profit, as soon as I reach 500 subscribers. and I'll be featuring guest advice. I'd like to use a big chunk of your post as a guest column at some point."

Lagniappe: la·gniappe
(lan-yap') - derives from New World Spanish la
ñapa, "the gift," and ultimately from
Quechua yapay, "to give more." The word came into
the rich Creole dialect mixture of New Orleans and there acquired
a French spelling. It is still used in the Gulf states,
especially southern Louisiana, to denote a little bonus that a
friendly shopkeeper might add to a purchase. By extension, it may
mean "an extra or unexpected gift or
benefit." |
